Our Mission
Purpose Harbor exists so that no family has to choose between their child's treatment and keeping their life afloat. We cover the costs of severe childhood illness — primarily through grants to the organizations already serving these families, and directly where families need us.
A world where a child's chance at treatment never depends on what their family can afford.
Our story
Why Purpose Harbor Exists
When a child is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, the medical fight is only half the battle. Within weeks, families face costs insurance never touches: flights to a specialist center, months of lodging near a hospital, a parent's lost income, and household bills that keep arriving no matter what.
Help exists — but it's fragmented. A hospital fund covers lodging in one city. A cancer foundation helps with one diagnosis. A regional charity serves one country. Families outside those lines, or facing a rare disease no foundation covers, fall through the gaps.
Purpose Harbor was founded to close those gaps in two ways at once. First, rather than duplicating what excellent local organizations already do, we fund them — turning donor generosity into a network of help that is larger than any single charity could build alone. And where no organization covers a family's situation, we give directly — whatever the diagnosis, wherever they are.

Any diagnosis
A rare metabolic disorder deserves the same urgency as a well-known cancer. We support families across the full range of severe childhood illness.
Stronger together
The best help is often already nearby. We fund hospital funds, foundations, and local charities instead of competing with them.
Radical transparency
Donors deserve to know exactly where money goes. We publish our numbers, our grantees, and our overhead — plainly.
Where the Money Goes
We publish annual figures for direct family assistance, partner grants, and operating costs — along with our grantee list. Accountability is part of the help.
